Balmoral Castle60 miles south-east of Nairn
 The famous Balmoral Castle has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since Prince Albert bought it for Queen Victoria in 1852. Although not the original building, which was considered to be too small, the present building was completed in 1856 and has since remained within the Royal Family.

CONVENER WELCOMES CONSULTATION ON BYPASS Highland Council Convener Cllr Sandy Park is urging the Nairn public to turn out in numbers for next week's public consulation in the Courthouse on Nairn's long awaited bypass. SCHOOL ENROLEMENTS TAKING PLACE THIS WEEK Parents and guardians of children are being informed by the Highland Council that it is time for enrolment into pre-school and primary school in the Highlands. LUCY WILL BE THERE TO CAPTURE ALL THE CUP DRAMA The countdown has started with a vengeance towards the June 8-10 staging of the 37th Curtis Cup encounter at the Nairn Golf Club - a biennial, eight-a-side three-day match between the best female amateur golfers in Great Britain and Ireland and their counterparts from the United States. |
