Auldearn

The village of Auldearn , just over two miles east of Nairn, was the scene of another famous battle when, in 1645, Montrose, Captain-General of a Royalist Army, defeated a covenanting force. More than 3,000 died in the battle and the site offers way-marked trails and historical interpretation signage.
