Burghead

20 miles east of Nairn 

Further east along the Moray Firth is Burghead, a peaceful coastal village. But that was not always the case. It was once the power base of the kingdom of the northern Picts. The Burghead Headland Trust has now acquired the former coastguard lookout and turned it into a visitors centre and viewpoint, offering a superb vantage point for watching the Moray Firth dolphins.
