Site Visits & Workshops
Would you like to participate in a site visit and workshop this summer with 'Time Traveller's? There are 10 places available on each date below. All ages are welcome but under 8's need to be accompanied by parent/carers on a one to one basis.
Site Visit, July 27th 2004 - The Pictish Well, Burghead
Take a 'special' guided trip to the Pictish Well at Burghead this summer and hear the stories associated with this ancient site and the fort remains nearby. Why SPECIAL? You'll be accompanied by artist
John McNaught
, who will help you make a unique visual record of the trip using mixed media techniques, and Heritage Officer
Andrew Ferguson
, to answer those questions you always wanted to ask about local history. Work done with John in the morning will be followed up with an afternoon workshop to collectively create a pictorial image for the Time Travellers Map, a special project being led by the local Cultural Co-ordinator working with local schools and the community. Copies will be distributed to each primary school at the end of the year.
Timetable: 10.15am- Meet at the Courthouse, Nairn High Street
10.30 am - Depart by coach to Burghead
1.15pm - Arrive back in Nairn
1.15 to 2.15pm - Lunch. Please feel free to bring a packed lunch. Young people between 8 and 15 years will be supervised.
2.15 to 3.45 - Group Workshop at the Community Centre
Cost: FREE, please book with form in the Summer Activity Programme, available from the Service Point mid June.
