Situated on the west coast at Dornie, near Kyle of Lochalsh, Eilean Donan Castle and visitor centre is open from April until October. The castle sat at the heart of the sea kingdom of the Lord of the Isles and, more recently, was used as a setting for the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Highlander’. Probably the most photographed castle in , it contains a fascinating collection of MacRae family and local history artefacts.

CONVENER WELCOMES CONSULTATION ON BYPASS

Highland Council Convener Cllr Sandy Park is urging the Nairn public to turn out in numbers for next week's public consulation in the Courthouse on Nairn's long awaited bypass.
