Nairn's Handyperson Scheme
The Volunteer Centre here in Nairn, offers the services of a Handyperson Scheme.The scheme is run by volunteers and provides a free repair and assistance service to vulnerable members of the community in Nairn and the surrounding area.
Jobs undertaken include moving light furniture, fitting shelves, changing tap washers, cleaning windows, changing curtains, emulsioning and glossing rooms in house. Because of health and safety guidelines, neither roof, gas, electrical work nor carpet fitting can be carried out. Gardening tasks are also undertaken, such as small weeding tasks, grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning shrubs and bushes, clearing pathways, laying out plants and bulds and clearing leaves.

CONVENER WELCOMES CONSULTATION ON BYPASS Highland Council Convener Cllr Sandy Park is urging the Nairn public to turn out in numbers for next week's public consulation in the Courthouse on Nairn's long awaited bypass. SCHOOL ENROLEMENTS TAKING PLACE THIS WEEK Parents and guardians of children are being informed by the Highland Council that it is time for enrolment into pre-school and primary school in the Highlands. LUCY WILL BE THERE TO CAPTURE ALL THE CUP DRAMA The countdown has started with a vengeance towards the June 8-10 staging of the 37th Curtis Cup encounter at the Nairn Golf Club - a biennial, eight-a-side three-day match between the best female amateur golfers in Great Britain and Ireland and their counterparts from the United States. |
